Best Presentation Award for Aeronautical Engineering PhD Student
One of our researchers, Mr Miguel Moratilla-Vega won the Timothy Nickels Prize for the Best Presentation at the in London last week on 11th September.
The UK Turbulence Consortium is a group of academics and researchers from across 21 UK institutions, committed to undertaking high quality, world leading turbulence simulation and scientific research.
Miguel, pictured left, is undertaking his Aeronautical Engineering PhD with the brand new (NCCAT.) NCCAT is funded through a partnership comprising the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) and Innovate UK, with support from Rolls-Royce plc and Â鶹ֱ²¥ University.
Miguel’s talk on his PhD work was entitled: “An LES-Acoustic Coupling Method for Sound Generation Analysis and High Order Propagation from Turbulent Jets”.
Miguel had this to say in response to receiving the award:
"It was an honour to receive this award given by the UK Turbulence Consortium, especially at the final stage of my PhD and as a recognition of part of the work that we are currently doing at the UTC in terms of jet noise analysis."
The School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering offers their congratulations to Miguel and we look forward to hearing about his future achievements!
