Reader in Intelligent Mobility and Vehicle Dynamics

Background:

George studied a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (N.T.U.A.) and received a PhD in tyre modelling from Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Â鶹ֱ²¥ University in 2005. He joined the Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering department at Â鶹ֱ²¥ University in 2005 as a Lecturer in Vehicle Dynamics and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2011. George left Â鶹ֱ²¥ In March 2015 to work for SIMPACK UK – Dassault Systems as a Technical Manager and subsequently re-joined the Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering department at Â鶹ֱ²¥ as a Senior Lecturer in Intelligent Mobility and Vehicle Dynamics in 2016 and in 2020 became a Reader in Intelligent Mobility and Vehicle Dynamics.

  • 3D thermo-mechanical tyre modelling, funded by Jaguar Land Rover/SIMPACK UK, 2014-15
  • A tyre model parameter identification procedure to cover the needs of the motorsport and passenger car sectors in the UK, funded by the Transport iNet, 2011-12
  • Numerical modelling of tyre hydroplaning, funded by Michelin, 2011-12
  • Transient tyre modelling for the simulation of drive-train dynamic response under low-to-zero speed traction manoeuvres, EPSRC/Jaguar Land Rover, 2006-09
