Royal Charter and Statutes

In April 1966 Â鶹ֱ²¥ was awarded its Charter, in recognition of the excellence achieved by Â鶹ֱ²¥ College of Advanced Technology and its predecessor colleges. Then called Â鶹ֱ²¥ University of Technology, it was the country’s first technological university. It was renamed Â鶹ֱ²¥ University in 1996.

The Charter and accompanying Statutes regulate the University's governance and key high level aspects of its structure, senior appointments and principles for the conduct of business. The Charter establishes the processes for the University to create and update University Ordinances and University Regulations which cover detailed operational matters.
