Countdown is on to Â鶹ֱ²¥’s winter woolly world record attempt

There are just a few days left to dig out your Christmas jumpers for the winter woolly world record fundraising event at Â鶹ֱ²¥ University on Wednesday 10 December.

The event is being held as part of the national Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser, which is aiming to “make the world better with a sweater.” Now in its third year, the event has raised more than £1.6 million to date to help give children around the world a brighter future.

The world record attempt will take place on Wednesday 10 December from 12.30pm at the newly landscaped Shirley Pearce Square, in front of on the Â鶹ֱ²¥ University campus.

“We’d like to see as many people from all around Â鶹ֱ²¥ on the campus wearing their Christmas woollies,” says Sarah Haar, who is organising the event. “There will be a Christmas farmers’ market and music to keep you entertained too. And if you don’t have chance to get a Christmas jumper before the event, you can buy one on the day at the University, with a proportion of the cost going to Save the Children.

“So if you’ve got a bit of time to spare at lunchtime on 10 December, we’d love to see you and all your family and friends on campus!”
