Â鶹ֱ²¥ University to offer Chevening Scholarships to Brazilian students
Â鶹ֱ²¥ University is to offer prestigious Chevening Scholarships to students from Brazil, as part of a new partnership announced in Rio de Janeiro by Alex Ellis, the British Ambassador to Brazil.
Two Chevening/Â鶹ֱ²¥ Olympic Legacy Scholarships will be offered each year for the next three years, starting in 2015-16. The Scholarships are aimed at students who wish to study for a one-year Master’s degree in sports management disciplines at Â鶹ֱ²¥ University.

The programme brings outstanding scholars from around the world, who have the potential to become leaders, decision-makers and opinion-formers, to study postgraduate courses in the UK. Previous Chevening scholars have returned to their home countries to take up influential senior positions in government, governing bodies and industry.
Recipients of the Chevening/Â鶹ֱ²¥ Olympic Legacy Scholarships will be able to study either at the main or at Â鶹ֱ²¥ University London's , which opens on this autumn. The scholarships will cover the full cost of the students’ tuition fees and provide a living allowance.

“Â鶹ֱ²¥ played a significant role in the London 2012 Games: we hosted the official preparation camp headquarters for Team GB, ninety Â鶹ֱ²¥-connected athletes competed at the Games, and sports benefitted from our pioneering research and innovation. With Rio set to host the 2016 Games, it is fitting that we are able to offer these scholarships to underline the important role that the Olympics and Paralympics play and the positive legacy that they can leave in the host countries.”
