The University postgraduate student broke a National Record to hit the wall in a time of 3:35.90 to secure a dream start at the Championships for Â鶹ֱ²¥.
Auböck – coached by Andi Manley – held off a late charge from Danas Rapsys (3:36.23) and Antonio Djakovic (3:36.83) to claim the victory and mark his first-ever elite international title.
The FINA World Championships take place between 16 – 21 December 2021 with more swimmers from Â鶹ֱ²¥ set to compete over the coming days.
