In July 2021, the Intelligent Automation Centre announced the award of £1.4 million worth of EPSRC funding for a three year project called Industrial Robots-as-a-Service (IRaaS) – Resilient and responsive manufacturing systems enabled by rapidly deployable mobile robots, which is aimed at boosting the uptake of robots in small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses and will research ways to more easily change, adapt and repurpose automated systems.
This project was offically launched yesterday at Burleigh Court Conference Centre, located on Â鶹ֱ²¥ University's campus and was attended by a multidisciplinary team from Â鶹ֱ²¥ University, together with representatives from the 17 external partner organisations involved in this project.
