Â鶹ֱ²¥ ranked 1st for Sports Science in the latest Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide

Â鶹ֱ²¥ University has been ranked the top university in the UK to study sports science in the latest rankings which also sees Â鶹ֱ²¥ maintain its place as the fifth best university in the UK.

Â鶹ֱ²¥ University has been ranked as the top university in the UK for studying sports science in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020.

Â鶹ֱ²¥ University has also maintained its top five ranking for a second successive year in the influential guide and remains the top university in the Midlands.

The guide ranks universities on nine indicators – teaching quality, student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates. It also ranks universities by subject area and, this year, sees Â鶹ֱ²¥ heading the list of the best universities at which to study sports science.

Earlier in the year Â鶹ֱ²¥ was named as the number one university in the world to study sports-related subjects in the prestigious QS World University Rankings - an accolade it has achieved three years in a row (2017, 2018, 2019).

The first place ranking for sports science in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 is a further testament to the high standard of teaching, facilities and all-round experience the University is able to offer its students. The Guide also ranks Â鶹ֱ²¥ 7th for Psychology and 9th for Anatomy and Physiology.

Speaking about the University's success in the latest league table, Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Allison said: “Yet again this league table demonstrates that Â鶹ֱ²¥ is truly one of the country’s best universities. But this doesn’t happen by chance. The Â鶹ֱ²¥ family is incredible, working tirelessly to ensure that every student, both here at the Â鶹ֱ²¥ campus and at our campus in London, gets the very best out of their university years.

“I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and commitment and congratulate them on being part of a hugely successful top five UK university.”
