Welcome to The Holt

Situated approximately a 10-minute walk from the centre of campus and a 15-minute walk from the town centre, The Holt is off Forest Road on the East side of campus. The Holt is redeveloped accommodation, owned and managed by our partners, Unite Students. The Old Holt is a listed Victorian mansion around which the development was constructed.

Here are the official Welcome plans for The Holt Hall 2024. Please be aware that other websites may advertise non-official events which are not part of the plans for your hall.  All welcome activities are optional except for introductory talks through your hall and course.

*Please note that at the time of writing Firefly lacks the facilities to support those with mobility requirements from adequately accessing the venue. Once inside the door to the venue, the primary venue areas are accessed by a set of one storey flight of stairs with no lift access available.

As a university, we commit our best endeavours to ensuring all our incoming students have an equitable and positive Welcome experience. We recognise that the lack of physical access into Firefly may affect some students’ ability to attend these late-night activities. If you are an incoming first year student and have shared support requirements to the University, our Student Life Team will contact you directly for further support. If you are yet to share any support requirements with the University you should look to complete our online  as soon as possible.
