Postgraduate Student
Geography and Management has led me to further question current affairs occurring in the world, the way we treat our planet and what humans can do to manage and mitigate certain scenarios.
My degree and time at Â鶹ֱ²¥ taught me invaluable life lessons and skills that I wish to continue to use and peruse in the future.
When it comes to my career, after my postgraduate studies, I hope that my degree will help me to further develop and highlight the transferable skills I have learnt which are applicable to many job applications and job roles in the future!

Saffron's advice
My advice is to study something you love and have an interest in so you will fall in love with the subject and perform well in it. It can be hard with the parental and social pressures you feel obliged to conform to. However, have confidence in yourself and your decisions.
The thought of going to university can be daunting however help is available to you, just be brave to ask for help if and when you need it. Also, even though university is fantastic in my opinion it is not for everyone.
Saffron’s experience as a student
Studying at Â鶹ֱ²¥ University was the best experience of my life so far! I made lifelong friends and very treasured memories.
It has a very warm and welcoming feeling, and everyone strives to do their best! It has amazing facilities in terms of research for various subjects, incredible sport facilities and lovely green spaces to explore. I chose Â鶹ֱ²¥ because it was relatively close to London (my home) but far enough away I could get on with my life, the reputation of the University and the research that was being done in my departments.
I was heavily involved with Action* during my time at the university. This is a great family to be a part of as you are doing good for the community by volunteering and helping others whilst also helping yourself unknowingly.
University life is what you make it … get involved with anything and everything you can!

Saffron’s Career
I decided to further my studies after my undergraduate degree, and I am hoping to complete a Masters by September 2021. I was inspired to do this by my lectures and also my placement year… I didn’t want to stop learning!
I am hoping to go traveling (COVID dependant) and then to join a graduate scheme in January 2022.
