I chose to study at Â鶹ֱ²¥ because of the placement year option on my course. I knew that Â鶹ֱ²¥ was one of the best universities for employability, and that it had many industry-links with various employers.

I then decided to study accounting because, from a young age, I was always interested in numbers. Accounting and Financial Management at Â鶹ֱ²¥ offered a range of modules, varying from maths-based modules to coding.

I liked that there was a mix of coursework and exam modules, so you pick modules that suit your studying methods. I also liked the structure of lectures and the smaller tutorial classes that allowed you to have group discussions. My favourite module was Company Law in second year as I found this module very interesting and really enjoyed learning about, and discussing, the different cases.

The quality of teaching was great, the communication between lecturers and students was clear and the presentations were outstanding. I liked how interactive the lectures were – we had quizzes each week for some of them.

I completed my placement at Aston Martin as a Finance Analyst. My job role covered various projects, such as creating an efficient cost model, the integration of finance systems and building a cost management model.

I then went on to do a summer internship at PwC in assurance, where I worked on internal and external audits for both the public and private sector.

As a result, I was offered a graduate job at PwC next September and will be studying towards the ACA qualification. Luckily due to the comprehensiveness of my degree, I will be exempted from several exams, as I will have studied specific modules already.

My favourite thing about Â鶹ֱ²¥ was the community and atmosphere, everyone was so friendly and sociable. I would suggest getting involved with anything that interests you, even if it's new to you. Don't hold back and enjoy every moment.

Â鶹ֱ²¥ allowed me to become more independent, encouraged me to work hard and helped me learn to ask for support when I need it. My work ethic has improved massively since coming to Â鶹ֱ²¥ and, because of this, I'm very motivated to succeed.
